This is an old work from school (I think about 2 years?) that I was meaning to put up but forgot about it, lol.
My original concept of making them mermaids didn't work out. Bleh!
At the time our homework was to make a photomanip using 5 images. So the five images are as follows:
*The two women (same person, yes) were stock from
("Reach" and "Flight")

I got the inspiration for an underwater theme after seeing those. Unfortunately it seems she took those images down
*The fish, reef, and the texture of the water surface were stock from sxc.hu

At that point I learned a lot about the different ways of making selections, paths, using masks, channels and all that fun stuff. It's amazing to look back and now think, "Hey I could have done this and this..."
The toughest part was adding different lighting to the forms so it was more convincing in respect to their new environment.
There is also a lot of design work I have done that incorporated a lot of abstract use of photoshop but I am hesitant on posting it on deviantart (stuff like cd-covers, brochures and the like, blah.)
Anyway, hope you guys think it's kinda cool.

Love your work!!!!!!!!
What I love best is the underwater lighting and how it just glows off of the two girls. Very pretty!
